The congregation are used to a varied diet of good music to inspire and lead them in their Sunday worship. The Choir

Choral music plays a large and important part in the services at St Helen Witton. There is a lively, talented mixed choir of adults and teenagers, one of whom became BBC Radio 2 Choir girl of the Year during the 1990s.

The Choir is affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music »» and takes part in RSCM festivals and workshops as well as giving occasional concerts.

Choir members rehearse on Thursday evenings, and sing a mixture of traditional and some more unusual music, often accompanied by various instrumental forces. Prospective new members are always most welcome to come along to a rehearsal to see what is going on. It is not essential to be able to read music; there is an informal and friendly atmosphere and people are very supportive of one another in their singing. Away from church, members of the choir can be found enjoying the odd evening out.
