The Parochial Church Council (PCC) is the representitive body of parishioners, elected from those persons on the electoral roll (in accordance with the Church representation rules), usually chaired by the Incumbent. The PCC has three types of members:-
Ex-officio members remain members of the PCC whilst they continue to hold the post that gives them the right to serve on the PCC.
Elected members serve for a period of three years and must be on the electoral roll of the parish. Such elected members may serve for up to two consecutive 3 year terms, after which they are ineligable to serve as an elected PCC member for a period of 12 months.
Co-opted members may serve only until the end of the PCC year in which they were co-opted.
The PCC is the governing body of the church in each parish. They are
responsible for taking decisions and for considering the "way forward"
for the parish. The PCC are your elected representatives; as such if you have
concerns or issues you consider relevent for the future of the parish, please
speak with a PCC member. They can raise the matter (in confidence if you wish)
at the next meeting of the council.
